Rockstar moves the GTA 6 release date again
The publisher has adjusted the release window once more. What it means for players, and why delays from Rockstar usually work out well.

Rockstar Games has adjusted the GTA 6 release date more than once: the game has slipped from its original window, and each change came with the same explanation — the studio needs more time to bring the project to the standard it wants.
What it means in practice
- Pre-orders carry over. Digital pre-orders move to the new date automatically; refunds follow the rules of each store.
- Pre-load moves with the release. It normally opens a day or two before launch.
- The marketing run gets longer. Expect more trailers and gameplay showcases as the date approaches.
Why delays are normal for Rockstar
Both GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 were delayed several times, and neither shipped in a state anyone would call unfinished. For a project of this scale, extra polish months translate directly into fewer bugs at launch.
