Leonida covers wildly different terrain: the Vice City waterfront, the Grassrivers swamps, the switchbacks of Mount Kalaga and a chain of islands. One all-purpose car will not cover it.

A garage for three scenarios

  1. A city car

A sports car or fast sedan for Vice City missions. Prioritise acceleration and handling over top speed.

  2. An off-roader

For the swamps, the Ambrosia backroads and the forest tracks up north. Ground clearance beats horsepower.

  3. A boat

The Leonida Keys are miserable without one, and water is the best place to shake police.

Where rare vehicles spawn

In Rockstar games rare cars are not random — they follow districts and time of day:

  • Wealthy districts — sports cars and premium sedans, more often in the evening and at night.
  • Industrial areas and the port — trucks, vans and specialist machinery.
  • Rural areas — pickups, older muscle cars, farm equipment.
  • Fixed points — unique vehicles parked at specific buildings, usually the most valuable ones.
Tip

If a car will not spawn, the old trick helps: drive far enough for the district to unload from memory, then come back. Street traffic also changes at night.

What to upgrade first

What is actually confirmed

Officially shown so far: airboats for the swamps, speedboats, helicopters and police vehicles backed by drones. Everything else is inference from trailer footage — in the vehicle database every entry carries a confirmed or unconfirmed label.
