Online is the most profitable part of GTA 5, which is why there are more questions about GTA 6 multiplayer than answers. Here is what actually exists.
What is confirmed
Rockstar continues to support GTA Online for GTA 5 and has said it is not abandoning the existing community. Details of the GTA 6 online component have not been revealed — no launch date, no progression structure.
Everything you see in videos titled "leaked GTA 6 Online mechanics" is unconfirmed. We do not publish that kind of material as fact.
What is reasonable to expect
- A delayed launch. GTA Online arrived about six weeks after GTA 5. A similar gap is likely.
- No progress transfer. The GTA Online economy took a decade to build; importing it would break the balance of a new game on day one.
- Focus on co-op jobs. Cooperative heists proved the most durable format in the series.
- Seasonal updates. The content-drop model makes money and is not going anywhere.
How to prepare
- Line up a crew now
Co-op content in GTA is almost always easier and more profitable with a regular group.
- Check your subscription
Console multiplayer needs an active subscription. Renewing it on launch day is a bad plan.
- Do not spend money on rumours
Before any official announcement, "pre-order in-game currency" offers are a red flag.
We will update this guide and the news section the moment Rockstar announces details.
